Recipe

10 drops Citronella Essential Oil
10 drops Lemongrass Essential Oil
10 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia)
5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
1:1 Distilled Water/Witch Hazel
4 oz Amber Glass Bottle (I purchased these)

Instructions

Carefully count drops of each oil as you add them to your bottle. Once the essential oils are added, fill half of the remaining bottle with witch hazel and top off with distilled (or at least filtered) water. Add the lid and turn the mixture over a few times before use.

This natural repellent spray smells amazing and feels so fresh on your skin! Infinitely better than those mainstream/toxic bug sprays! 🙅🏻🙅🏻🙅🏻

My whole life I have struggled with hormone-induced cystic acne. Over the years I have tried every spot treatment on the market, each one worked great for the occasional breakout but when it came to cystic acne – it just never made an impact. As I did more and more research and talked to my oily friends the essential oil Geranium kept coming up. That is when I started using this spot treatment, and I haven’t had a major break out since!

Last month I did a product feature on Geranium Essential Oil (read it here). In that post, we learned that not only does Geranium prevent acne it also works to balance hormones. For me, those two go hand in hand. One “acne” search on Pinterest and you will find a dozen posts on Apple Cider Vinegar and its profound effect on skin and acne. So I decided to give it a try!

This recipe could easily be made in a dropper bottle or even a spray bottle and applied with a cotton pad but for me, a roller ball gave me a quick and easy vehicle for spot treatment.

First, add the 30 drops of Geranium Essential Oil followed by topping off the container with organic ACV. That’s it! Super easy and effective!

I use the roller ball on my trouble areas as my monthly cycle approaches. By doing this ahead of time I have prevented all major cystic breakouts!

🚨 I will warn you – this mixture does not create my favorite aroma. Not my favorite…at…all. 😝 But at this point (nearing 30) I’ll suffer through any funky smell to avoid a chin full of zits. 🤷🏻
